LTM Demo - Alice Law

LegalTech Match brings AI Clarity to law firms through community, consulting, and content.

In this demo, Jan Roggen speaks with Jeroen Villé from Alice Law about how their AI-powered platform tackles the core productivity challenge in litigation.

Below you’ll find the key questions and answers from the interview. Watch the full demo below to see the platform in action.

1. Who is Alice?

Alice.law is an AI-powered workspace built specifically for lawyers. Unlike traditional legal software that focuses on ERP functionality, time tracking, invoicing, and scheduling, Alice sits as a layer above those systems. It's where a lawyer opens their day, works through cases, and closes out when they go home. Everything in Alice revolves around one thing: handling litigation files.

2. Who is your ideal customer?

Alice is built for small, boutique, and mid-sized law firms. Currently, most users of Alice are based in Belgium. While most AI players in the legal space are racing toward enterprise and Big Law, Alice deliberately targets the firms that are often underserved; the ones that need AI to be accessible, intuitive, and affordable.

3. Who uses your product?

Litigation lawyers who manage active case files on a daily basis. Lawyers who need to analyze documents, build arguments, draft legal submissions, and navigate the full procedural workflow, from pre-litigation to courtroom.

4. What pain or problem are you solving?

The core daily work of a litigator is time-consuming and document-heavy: reviewing large volumes of client files, identifying key facts and inconsistencies, constructing legal arguments, and drafting submissions like default notices, briefs, and conclusions. Without AI, this process is slow and largely manual. Alice streamlines the entire litigation workflow from intake to document output.

5. What is the value of solving this problem?

The time savings are dramatic. In one real-world example, a lawyer who received a large volume of client documents was able to draft a comprehensive default notice in under an hour, a task that would normally take considerably longer. In some cases, legal documents that would typically require hours of work can be produced in minutes.

6. How do you integrate with other products?

At this stage, Alice does not yet integrate directly with ERP systems. However, demand from the market is driving that direction and conversations are underway with several players. The key point: the productivity gain from using Alice is so significant that the current absence of ERP integration is not a blocker. Uploading documents twice, for instance, is a minor inconvenience compared to drafting a legal conclusion in under two minutes.

7. How do you guarantee safe use of AI?

Security and confidentiality are non-negotiable in legal, and Alice is built with that in mind. The infrastructure runs entirely within Europe on Microsoft Azure. All data is encrypted, is not used for training purposes, is not shared with Alice or with other users, and is fully siloed per law firm. Each firm's data stays within its own secure environment.

8. What do your most successful users have in common?

Successful firms using Alice typically put it to work on real cases immediately. The lawyers who get the most out of Alice are those who trust the tool with actual live files rather than test scenarios. Word of mouth tells the story best: one lawyer learned about Alice from a colleague who had used it to draft a detailed default notice in under an hour, after receiving a large volume of client documents. Once lawyers see that kind of output on a real matter, they're converted.
